The Aliya® PEF System
A Minimally Invasive Ablation for Soft Tissue Lesions
What is Aliya PEF ablation?
The Aliya PEF System delivers Pulsed Electric Fields (PEF), which are an ablative energy that does not rely on extreme temperatures to destabilize target cells. This damages them beyond repair and allows the body to eliminate the targeted lesion. Because Aliya PEF ablation does not rely on extreme temperatures, the healthy tissue and sensitive structures surrounding the treated area are preserved.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is Aliya PEF delivered?
The Aliya procedure is minimally invasive. The PEF energy is delivered through a small needle inserted either in the skin or through an endoscope inserted in a natural orifice, such as the mouth.
How long will the procedure last?
The length of the procedure varies from patient-to-patient and is dependent on the location, size, and number of soft tissue lesions to ablate. This is typically an outpatient procedure; many patients can return home the same day or within 24 hours.
Is Aliya PEF safe?
Data suggest Aliya PEF has a favorable safety profile.1,2,3,4 This type of ablation is considered gentle due to its non-thermal nature, with minimal to no device-related adverse effects.
Are there any risks that I should be aware of?
Please consult with your physician to understand the risks that may be specific to you.
